Make a Wish: Rylee's Room
MTA was honored to help grant a wish for Make-A-Wish Northeastern & Central California. A local wish child in our Sacramento region, Rylee, wished for a room makeover.
Rylee is a 12-year-old girl in Granite Bay who is battling Gastrointestinal Disorder. Rylee requires full-time home care. She will be spending most of her time in her room, and her family would love to make it a happy, beautiful, and comfortable space for her. Rylee loves purple, ponies, and the ocean.”
Some of Rylee’s vision include:
- Ocean mural (so Rylee feels like she is swimming)
- Purple walls (Purple, Pink)
- Corner unit with shelves and storage for Rylee's medical equipment
- New dresser
- Comfy chair for visitors
- New mattress that raises head and feet up
- Loves ponies
- Loves mirrors (and looking at herself)
- Loves lights
MTA employees donated their time and energy to create an amazing sanctuary for Rylee. It was a complete transformation of her bedroom, including the fabrication and installation of a window seat – as Rylee loves to look out the window. This room makeover took place over 2 ½ days.
Thank you to all MTA employees that put their blood, sweat and tears into Rylee’s room and to our local sponsors: paint donated by Dunn Edwards, ceiling fan donated by ALR Lighting and wallcovering installation by Larry Raskin Wallcovering.
We love giving back to our community and supporting Make-A-Wish!
